Bears 34, Seahawks 17: Swift Scores Three Times, Chicago Routs the Defending Champions in Seattle to Close Week 8

The Chicago Bears went into the loudest building in the NFC and took it apart: D'Andre Swift ran for three touchdowns, Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards, and a 34-17 Monday night rout dropped the defending champion Seahawks to .500 while Chicago climbed to 6-2.

Bears 34, Seahawks 17: Swift Scores Three Times, Chicago Routs the Defending Champions in Seattle to Close Week 8 (Dallas Watch News)

Week 8 ended with a statement in Seattle. The Chicago Bears rolled to a 34-17 victory over the Seahawks on Monday night at Lumen Field, improving to 6-2 while the defending champions fell to 4-4, NBC Sports reported.

D'Andre Swift was the night's workhorse and its finisher: 69 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries, according to the ESPN box score. Caleb Williams went 24-of-34 for 247 yards and a touchdown as Chicago gained 363 yards against one of the league's most respected defenses — and the Bears' own defense got a debut to remember from Jeffery Simmons, who finished with six tackles, two for loss, a sack and a pass deflection in his first game for Chicago. The win did cost the Bears up front: defensive linemen Kentavius Street and Grady Jarrett both left with lower-body injuries.

Seattle's night was a study in almost. The Seahawks trailed just 13-9 at halftime, and when Sam Darnold — 17-of-34 for 188 yards, two touchdowns and an interception — found Cooper Kupp for a fourth-quarter touchdown and a two-point conversion, the margin was 20-17 and the building was awake. Chicago answered with two more touchdowns and closed the door. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 118 receiving yards were the home side's best line in defeat, and the 17-point margin was Seattle's first loss of 2026 by more than three points.

For Dallas, watching from 3-5, the picture is the point: Chicago sits within a half-game of the NFC North lead at 6-2, the defending champions are back at .500, and the conference's wild-card maths got harder for everyone chasing from below. The Cowboys' next game is Sunday at Indianapolis. The Bears, meanwhile, have now beaten both of last season's Super Bowl teams in back-to-back weeks — the kind of November form that January remembers.
