Dallas Trinity Comes Home at Last: Fort Lauderdale at the Cotton Bowl, Sunday at 4
Seven weeks after its last league match at Fair Park, Dallas Trinity FC is home — fifth on 11 points, three below the playoff places, against a Fort Lauderdale side that has lost every road match this fall.

Dallas Trinity FC finally plays at home again on Sunday. The club hosts Fort Lauderdale United at the Cotton Bowl at 4 p.m. CT — its first league match at Fair Park since September 13, after a four-game road trip and the State Fair's annual takeover of the grounds pushed Trinity away for seven weeks. The match, the club's 10th of the 14-game fall season, is also Youth Sports Night, presented by Scottish Rite, and airs on Peacock.
The table makes the stakes plain. Dallas sits fifth on 11 points, three points below the playoff places with five matches to play, according to the 3rd Degree matchday preview. Fort Lauderdale is last on seven points and has lost all five of its road matches this fall. The two clubs met on September 18 in South Florida, and Dallas won 2-1 — still the last league match Trinity has won.
Since that night, Dallas has lost 3-0 at Lexington, drawn 1-1 at Brooklyn and lost 1-0 at DC Power last Sunday. A home crowd, a winless-on-the-road opponent and three of the final five at the Cotton Bowl give Trinity the run-in it would have chosen. What it does with Sunday's first step is the story of the afternoon.
