DART Rides Are Free on Election Day: Every Bus, Train and the TRE, With One Code in the GoPass App (Dallas Watch News)

Getting to the polls is one Election Day problem Dallas–Fort Worth does not have to have. Dallas Area Rapid Transit will offer free rides on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, across the whole system: all DART buses and trains, the Silver Line, GoLink on-demand service, the Dallas Streetcar, paratransit services, and the Trinity Railway Express that links Dallas and Fort Worth.

The mechanics are simple, and they run through the phone. Riders enter the promo code VOTENOV3 when booking in the DART GoPass app to receive a complimentary adult local day pass. DART posts the program's details at dart.org/vote, and polling-place information runs through the county elections websites — Dallas County voters cast ballots at any of the county's vote centers on Election Day, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

One boundary matters: the free rides are an Election Day offer. They did not cover the early voting period, which closed Friday, October 30. With the station's live feed putting a 79 percent thunderstorm chance over Tuesday, a free train or bus is more than a courtesy this year — for voters without a car, or anyone who would rather not drive flooded streets to a vote center, it may be the most practical route to a ballot in the Metroplex.

John Washington III: "You Work for Us. We Don't Work for You."

John Washington III, the San Antonio independent running for president in 2028, turned his fire on officeholders of both parties in a statement Saturday: politicians who, he wrote, take more money from people's pockets and strip away their rights - and then ask those same people to fight for them.
