Fort Worth Botanic Garden Marks Día de los Muertos on Sunday, With a 3:30 Procession and Half-Price Admission
Activities run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Garden on Botanic Garden Boulevard — ballet folklórico, mariachi, altar displays and vendors — with the procession and a priest's blessing at the center of the afternoon.

Fort Worth's Día de los Muertos observance moves into the gardens on Sunday. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden hosts its Día de los Muertos celebration on November 1, inviting visitors to honor and remember loved ones through color, music and tradition — with admission to the Garden half price all day, activities from noon to 5 p.m., and last entry at 4 p.m.
The performance schedule fills the afternoon: Tiffany Rodriguez's ballet folklórico at noon, singer Sofia Jimenez at 12:30 p.m., Abuelitos Unidos at 1 p.m., host Nancy Leal from 2 to 5 p.m., the Two Catrinas at 3:15 p.m. and mariachi at 4 p.m. Día de los Muertos vendors, including face painting, work the grounds through the day, and altar displays and decorations come from Artes de la Rosa, Carrillo Funeral Services, Colección Mexicana, Nuestras Raíces, the Toluca Committee and the Celebramos Committee.
The center of the day is at 3:30 p.m., when a procession moves through the Garden and a priest offers a blessing — the moment the celebration turns from festival to remembrance. The Garden is at 3220 Botanic Garden Boulevard in Fort Worth. Sunday's weather, on the station's live feed, cooperates: a high near 78 and only a 3 percent rain chance.
