Dallas–Fort Worth Gets a Nonstop to Alaska: Saturday Flights to Anchorage Join the Summer 2027 Schedule

Dallas–Fort Worth Gets a Nonstop to Alaska: Saturday Flights to Anchorage Join the Summer 2027 Schedule (Dallas Watch News)

North Texas travelers planning far enough ahead have a new line to draw on the map. Alaska Airlines is adding seasonal nonstop service between Anchorage and Dallas–Fort Worth for the summer of 2027, operating once a week on Saturdays from June 12 through August 7, 2027. The route is one of three domestic additions from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport announced on October 27 — Austin and Nashville get the same Saturday pattern over the same dates — in what the airline describes as its largest-ever nonstop schedule from Alaska, in the year it marks its 95th anniversary.

The headline of the expansion is international: Anchorage to Tokyo Narita, the carrier's first nonstop on that city pair, scheduled daily from May 13 through September 7, 2027, on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, and set to return in January 2028 at three flights a week. The domestic routes, DFW included, are the leisure-season counterpart — a Saturday-only frequency aimed at summer vacation demand rather than business schedules, running through the peak weeks between mid-June and early August.

Two cautions belong in any trip plan built on the announcement. All four routes remain subject to government approval, and the airline's announcement does not list departure or arrival times for the three domestic routes, DFW's included — so for now the DFW–Anchorage nonstop exists as dates and a day of the week, not yet as a timetable. What is settled is the shape of the offer: for nine Saturdays next summer, the Metroplex and Alaska's largest city will be one flight apart, with no connection in between.
