DMA Free First Sunday Is Today: Pompeii and the Screenprints Cost Nothing Until 5 p.m. (Dallas Watch News)

Sunday in the Arts District comes with a price break. The Dallas Museum of Art's FREE First Sundays: Access for All program runs today, November 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1717 North Harwood Street — and on first Sundays, the museum's special exhibitions, normally ticketed, are free and do not require a ticket.

Two exhibitions ride the program today. 'Journey Through Pompeii: Masterpieces from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples' is included free, and so is 'X Marks the Spot: Contemporary Screenprinting at Brand X Editions' — for the screenprinting show, which closes November 8, this is the last free Sunday of its run. General admission to the DMA is free every day it is open (a free entry ticket is still required), so today's saving is specifically the exhibition ticket.

The program, supported by the Art Bridges Foundation's Access for All initiative, is built for exactly the kind of Sunday Dallas is having: the Dia de los Muertos calendar fills the afternoon and evening across the Metroplex, and the museum's five hours sit in the middle of it as the free, indoor, all-ages option downtown. Hours today are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
