How to Vote in the U.S. Midterms in Dallas–Fort Worth: Polls Open 7 to 7 Tuesday, at Any Vote Center in Your County

It is the top question on America's search bar this morning. Here is the Dallas–Fort Worth answer: any vote center in your county, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., in line by 7 still votes, and the ride there is free.

How to Vote in the U.S. Midterms in Dallas–Fort Worth: Polls Open 7 to 7 Tuesday, at Any Vote Center in Your County (Dallas Watch News)

The two voting questions at the top of the country's search bar on Election Eve — 'last day to vote' and 'how to vote in the us midterms' — have a short Dallas–Fort Worth answer, and it starts with the clock. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Polls across the Metroplex open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., and a voter who is in line by 7 p.m. can still vote. There is no voting on Monday: early voting closed on October 30, so Tuesday is, as the search phrase puts it, the last day to vote.

The second answer is about place. Dallas County runs Election Day on vote centers: a registered Dallas County voter may vote at any vote center in the county, not only at an assigned precinct — the county Elections Department's official list runs from the Elections Training and Warehouse on Round Table Drive to recreation centers, schools, churches and town halls in Dallas, Mesquite, Garland, Irving, Addison and every other city in the county. Collin County works the same countywide way; UT Dallas, which sits on the county line, hosts one location for each county on the same campus. Your exact ballot — which is set by where you live — can be seen before you go at dallascountyvotes.org. What Dallas County voters will find on it starts with the Governor and the statewide races, continues through county races including County Judge, and ends with Dallas County Proposition A, the property tax increase for homelessness programs this station detailed on Sunday. Tarrant County voters vote on a reduced map of 224 Election Day sites, the subject of this station's Monday file on the polling-place fight.

Getting there is the third answer, and on Tuesday it is free. DART rides are free on Election Day across buses and trains, the Silver Line, GoLink, the Dallas Streetcar, paratransit and the Trinity Railway Express, with the promo code VOTENOV3 in the GoPass app — the arrangement this station published in full on October 31 — and Trinity Metro is running the same free-ride offer on the Fort Worth side. Overnight storms are expected to clear the Metroplex by the 4 a.m. commute, hours before the polls open, though voters in the eastern counties may still meet rain at 7 a.m. The mechanics, in one line: registered in the county, any center in it, between 7 and 7, in line by 7 — and the ballot you preview tonight is the ballot you will be handed tomorrow.
