Macbeth in Arlington: Shakespeare Live Closes Its Halloween Run at Levitt Pavilion on Saturday
A Scottish general, a throne, and the ghosts that follow: Shakespeare Live's outdoor Macbeth finishes its three-performance Halloween run in Arlington on Saturday, with a first-ever Shakespeare RenFest filling the afternoon around it.

Arlington is spending Halloween with the Scottish play. Shakespeare Live presents Macbeth outdoors at Levitt Pavilion, and its three-performance run - staged for Halloween - closes on Saturday, October 31, according to CultureMap Fort Worth's weekend guide. The tragedy follows a Scottish general who murders his way to the throne and is then haunted by supernatural visions; of all of Shakespeare's plays, it is the one Halloween would have picked for itself.
Saturday brings more than the performance. The production is joined by the inaugural Shakespeare RenFest, a community arts event on Saturday afternoon with live entertainment, artists, craftspeople, food trucks, performers and Renaissance-inspired festivities, the guide said - a fair built around the play, in its first year.
The pairing gives Arlington a full Halloween Saturday that starts in daylight: the RenFest in the afternoon, then an outdoor tragedy about ambition, witches and ghosts as the evening's main event - a different kind of haunted house, four centuries old and still working.
