Cowboys Cardinals Final: Arizona Wins 33-30 in Overtime After Dallas Led All Day (Dallas Watch News)

The Dallas Cowboys did not trail on Sunday until the kick that beat them. Arizona's Chad Ryland made a 42-yard field goal in overtime to give the Cardinals a 33-30 win at AT&T Stadium, completing a rally from 17-3 down and a 24-10 fourth-quarter deficit, the Associated Press reported. Dallas falls to 3-5; Arizona, also 3-5, has now beaten the Cowboys five straight times and is 5-0 in this building since it opened in 2009.

The comeback ran through a benching. Jacoby Brissett started for Arizona and struggled before Gardner Minshew replaced him in the third quarter; Minshew finished 17-of-23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns, and Arizona outgained Dallas 467 yards to 261. Tyler Allgeier broke a career-long 63-yard touchdown run, then a 50-yarder that set up his own 5-yard touchdown catch. Dallas still led 30-24 after Brandon Aubrey's 41-yard field goal with 1:09 left — and Minshew took Arizona 80 yards in eight plays anyway, tying the game on a touchdown pass to Michael Wilson with 6 seconds left. Ryland, who had made his previous 58 extra points, pulled the PAT wide left, and a game Arizona had won went to overtime instead.

Neither team scored on its first overtime possession. On its second, Arizona moved 44 yards in eight plays and Ryland — the same kicker who had missed the winner six seconds from the end of regulation — made the 42-yarder that ended it. Dallas, which had not won back-to-back games since last November, leaves the stadium knowing it gave one away: a two-touchdown fourth-quarter lead, at home, against a backup quarterback, is the kind of game a season turns on, and this one turned the wrong way.
