Halloween lands on Saturday, Oct. 31, and Dallas's biggest family stop is the eighth annual Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets at Main Street Garden Park, 1902 Main Street, from 4 to 7 p.m., according to Visit Dallas. The free event sends costumed families out with a map of participating downtown businesses to collect treats from local retailers, with trick-or-treat bags available at the park while supplies last, alongside photo opportunities, a local artisan market, arts and crafts and live entertainment.

Downtown Dallas also hosts the Dallas Dia de los Muertos Parade and Festival on Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. at Dallas City Hall Plaza, 1500 Marilla Street, with the parade winding through downtown via South Griffin and Commerce streets before returning to City Hall, Visit Dallas said. Earlier in the day, The Shops at Park Lane hosts a sensory-friendly Kid's Halloween Sensory Play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Dallas Farmers Market Pumpkin Patch at 920 South Harwood Street closes its season on Saturday, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Fort Worth, the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth's Family Concert Series presents a Halloween Spooktacular at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, with wand-making lobby activities before a concert of music from the Harry Potter films, priced at $16.50 for adults and $11.50 for children ages 2 and older, according to DFW Child's weekend guide. The Cliburn's free community concert series joins the Dia de los Muertos Festival at Marine Park on Saturday, performing at 12:50 p.m. during a festival that runs 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden hosts a Dia de los Muertos procession on Sunday, Nov. 1, from noon to 5 p.m.

The weather should cooperate for trick-or-treaters: the station's live weather feed puts Saturday's high at 72.8 degrees with a 22 percent chance of precipitation.
