Monday Night on I-20 in Fort Worth: Westbound Drops to One Lane Overnight, and the I-30/I-820 Ramps Work All Week
TxDOT's Fort Worth week starts at 7 p.m. Monday — one westbound lane on I-20 from the I-30 interchange to FM 1187 for overhead sign work — with daytime ramp closures at I-820 running through Saturday.

The Fort Worth side of the Metroplex gets its turn in the barrels this week, and it starts Monday night. The Texas Department of Transportation's Fort Worth District roadwork page lists an overnight closure for Monday, November 2, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.: westbound I-20 mainlanes will be reduced to one lane from the I-30 interchange to Exit 420 for FM 1187 and FM 3325, for overhead sign work. TxDOT's own note on the item is the one drivers should plan around: expect delays. The same page carries the district's standing caveat that closures are subject to change due to weather and schedule — a live consideration Monday night, with severe storms in the forecast for the Metroplex.
The daytime work clusters at the I-30 and I-820 West Loop interchange, all of it in the district's typical 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekday window. From Monday through Saturday, November 7, the eastbound I-30 connector ramp to northbound I-820 West Loop may be closed for adjacent pavement removal; the signed detour sends traffic to southbound I-820, exiting at SP 580, crossing under the loop and returning northbound. Over the same days, the westbound I-30 exit to SP 580 and Linkcrest Drive will be intermittently closed to move equipment and materials, with traffic detoured to exit Walsh Ranch Parkway, cross I-30 and return on the eastbound mainlanes. And nightly from Monday through Friday, eastbound and westbound I-30 mainlanes between I-820 and Linkcrest Drive will have rolling closures for pavement marking maintenance, again with delays expected.
One more daytime item rounds out the I-20 corridor: from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the right outside lane of the eastbound I-20 frontage road, from the eastbound entrance ramp to Walsh Ranch Parkway, will be closed for sidewalk construction. Put together, the week's pattern is simple for Fort Worth drivers to remember — I-20 westbound is the Monday-night squeeze, the I-30/I-820 ramps are the weekday daytime puzzle, and every one of these windows sits inside hours when a storm delay or a schedule shift, both of which TxDOT warns are possible, moves the work rather than cancels the week.
