College Football Saturday in Dallas–Fort Worth: No. 19 SMU at Syracuse in the Morning, Kansas at TCU in the Afternoon (Dallas Watch News)

Dallas–Fort Worth's college football Saturday is a doubleheader that never shares a stadium. It opens at 11 a.m. CT in upstate New York, where No. 19 SMU plays Syracuse at the JMA Wireless Dome on ESPN2, and it closes at 2:30 p.m. CT in Fort Worth, where TCU hosts Kansas at Amon G. Carter Stadium on FS1.

SMU travels as the ranked team and the favorite in its matchup. The Mustangs are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in ACC play, winners of four straight since a 41-31 loss at Louisville, and they clinched bowl eligibility last week by scoring 42 second-half points in a 59-20 rout of California. Quarterback Kevin Jennings has completed 72.6 percent of his passes for 2,062 yards and 19 touchdowns. Syracuse, 3-4 and 1-4 in the ACC, arrives with momentum of a different kind - a 31-30 overtime win at North Carolina, its second overtime victory of the season.

TCU's afternoon is about recovery. The Horned Frogs lost 24-20 to West Virginia at home last week before 36,216 fans, a result that left their Big 12 championship hopes remote. History is on their side against Kansas: TCU leads the series 27 wins, 9 losses and 4 ties, has won 11 of the 12 meetings since joining the Big 12 in 2012, and Kansas has not won in Fort Worth since 1996. Game files for both matchups follow today's finals on this desk.
