Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets: Main Street Garden Hosts Downtown Dallas's Eighth Halloween, 4 to 7 p.m.
Downtown does Halloween before dark on Saturday: the eighth annual Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets runs 4 to 7 p.m. from Main Street Garden, free, with merchant trick-or-treating, artisan markets and half-hourly Cliburn concerts at The Eye.

Downtown Dallas's Halloween starts at check-in. The eighth annual Trick or Treat on Downtown Streets runs from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Main Street Garden Park, 1902 Main Street, hosted by Downtown Dallas, Inc. and free to attend. Families pick up a trick-or-treat bag or pumpkin and a map at the garden, then work the participating downtown merchants and pop-up stations in costume - an early-evening route that wraps up around sunset, with photo opportunities, a local artisan market, arts and crafts and live entertainment along the way, according to Visit Dallas's Halloween guide.
The music has a Dallas signature. The Cliburn is staging free performances through the event at The Eye at the Joule, 1503 Main Street - ten-minute sets every half hour, running from spooky seasonal classics to Broadway tunes and songs from beloved movies, performed by soprano Georgia Fender, violinist Haerim Elizabeth Lee and pianist Mikail Berestnev. It is, as Halloween programming goes, a trick-or-treat route with a concert series inside it.
The practical facts are the organizer's: the event is free, an RSVP is recommended in the guide coverage, and the sponsors listed on the Downtown Dallas, Inc. listing are H-E-B, Central Market and Joe V's Smart Shop. Downtown's version of Halloween is deliberately the daylight one - it ends at 7 p.m., handing the night to the neighborhoods, the parades across the river of downtown's own Día de los Muertos celebration at City Hall Plaza, and the Stars at American Airlines Center a short walk north.
