Halloween night in Deep Ellum ended in gunfire. At least nine people were shot and four people are dead after multiple shootings in Dallas' Deep Ellum district early Sunday morning, FOX 4 reported. Sources told the station the shootings happened at three different scenes in the Deep Ellum area, and the scenes are not believed to be related.
Large crime scenes were spotted on Elm and Main Street, the station reported, in a district that was crowded with people celebrating Halloween at the time. This desk held an unconfirmed scanner report of a Deep Ellum shooting as a tip through two overnight cycles; FOX 4's reporting is the first published account from a Dallas newsroom, and the toll above is the station's, attributed to its sources.
What is not yet known is most of the story. Police have not announced any arrests or any details about the circumstances of the shootings, and no information about the victims — neither their names nor the conditions of the wounded — has been released. This story will be updated as the Dallas Police Department releases official information.
