Monday Night's Work Zones: Bush Turnpike Lanes Close at 9, I-635's Town East U-Turns Stay Shut, and I-30 Rockwall Works All Night
The evening drive home is clear of these — they start at 9 p.m. The Bush Turnpike between US 75 and Garland loses lanes overnight, I-30 through Rockwall County alternates closures until 5 a.m., and the Town East U-turns on I-635 remain closed as they have been all fall.

The first cones go down at 9 p.m. On the President George Bush Turnpike, various lanes in both directions between US 75 and Garland close for the night — bridge work, paving work, truck access and underpass lights — under a standing Monday-to-Friday pattern that runs from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. It is night work only, and it is the widest of tonight's three work zones: a multi-lane tollway narrowed in alternating stretches while most of the Metroplex is asleep, and a trap mainly for late-shift drivers and anyone crossing the northeast side after dark.
East of Dallas, I-30 through Rockwall County works the same hours on a dated schedule. From November 1 through November 7, eastbound lanes between State Highway 205 and FM 3549 take alternating overnight closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for removals, sod placement and cement-treated base work, and westbound lanes between John King Boulevard and SH 205 close alternately in the same window. FM 548 is fully closed in both directions overnight through November 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., while crews install diaphragms and shoring — and the daytime side of the same project is already running: flagging operations on both I-30 frontage roads between FM 2642 and FM 551, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through November 7.
The third item is not new, and that is the point of listing it: on I-635, the U-turns at Town East in both directions remain closed as needed through the end of construction, which TxDOT's 635 East page dates to Fall 2026. The posted detour asks northbound drivers to continue to Town East, turn left and make a second left to reach the southbound frontage road, with southbound drivers following the mirror route. None of tonight's three zones touches the evening rush itself — all of them begin at 9 p.m. or are already in place — but a Dallas–Fort Worth driver out after dark on the northeast side, in Mesquite, or east toward Rockwall will meet at least one of them.
